Director, Renée Crown University Honors Program

 

Syracuse University invites applications from scholars to serve as Director of the Renée Crown University Honors Program, an all-University program housed administratively in the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will be eligible for hire at the rank of advanced Associate or Full Professor with tenure. All areas of scholarship are eligible for this position. Special consideration will be given to candidates who strengthen existing programs and initiatives.

The Director is responsible for all aspects of the program, including:

  • Advancing the program’s core values and mission.
  • Teaching in the program for the school or college in which they are tenured.
  • Overseeing the program’s administrative staff.
  • Cultivating strong alumni relations and promoting institutional advancement, including fundraising.

 

We invite applications from tenured senior faculty members with the following qualifications:

  • Strong administrative background, including curriculum and program development as well as budgetary, supervisory, and fundraising experience.
  • Distinguished record of academic achievement.
  • Experience developing programs to ensure quality engagement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building an equitable, diverse scholarly environment.
  • Wide-ranging curiosity and interest in building interdisciplinary connections.
  • PhD is required.

 

The initial appointment term is five years (with a formal review at three years), renewable or extendable by mutual consent.
