Job Summary


The Clinical Teaching Coach works with pre-service teachers in the School of Education to support their development of classroom teaching skills. The Coach mentors pre-service teachers in their ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons, modify instruction to meet students' needs, and support student achievement.


Duties & Responsibilities


•Observes and assesses pre-service teachers' lessons and suggest strategies for improvement
•Ensures pre-service teachers' abilities to plan and deliver lessons that are differentiated and meet state standards
•Supports pre-service teachers' skills in analyzing data, aligning assessments, and planning effectively
•Assists pre-service teachers in improving their skills in using data-informed research to improve instruction
•Assists pre-service teachers in improving their communication skills, both oral and written
•Provides guidance and support for pre-service teachers' development of classroom management skills
•Assists pre-service teachers' ability to design supportive, respectful learning environments
•Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements


•Master's degree in Education with a minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience in M-DCPS
•Completion of Clinical Supervision Training
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of the 2010 Florida Educator Accomplished Practices
•Ability to demonstrate knowledge with the teaching-learning cycle
•Working knowledge in mentoring pre-service teachers
•Practical expertise utilizing clinical supervision models
•Possess a high level of effective interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to work in late afternoons and Saturdays
•Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
