Job Summary


The Part-Time Instructional Support Technician monitors and controls predefined schedules and procedures in the operation of teaching incubator mobile units to ensure the smooth and successful execution and completion of user initiated requests and incidents. The position also supports the development of Competency Based Education (CBE) online modules and e-learning technology


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Responds to technical support calls by identifying, diagnosing and resolving level one incidents
  • Logs calls into tracking system
  • Monitors teaching incubator equipment and applications to ensure operations meet defined standards
  • Alerts and escalates any processing deviations, equipment failures and critical environment conditions such as power loss, a/c failures and security
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues with recording devices, software and computers
  • Prepares reports and provides general assistance to Learning and Program Evaluation and CBE Design teams
  • Enters commands and activates controls on computer and peripheral equipment to integrate and operate equipment
  • Monitors and executes backup system
  • Provides coverage for other shifts when necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Requirements


  • High School or GED Education and two (2) years of related experience in Information Technology
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals, and objectives and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Information Technology in a medium to large organization
  • Knowledge in the use and operation of multimedia equipment, computers and Microsoft Windows applications
  • Ability to follow predefined procedures while processing production schedules
  • Technical knowledge of IT systems to identify, diagnose, and resolve level one incidents
  • Possess technical troubleshooting skills for hardware and software
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting in a professional and positive manner
  • Ability to follow and issue oral and written instructions
  • Ability to interact successfully with end user community
  • Possess good decision making, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
