Job Summary

The Senior Network Technical Analyst is responsible for the configuration, installation and maintenance of enterprise systems in support of the College's network. The position is focused on maintaining availability, security, and performance of network services and the overall management of the College Network.This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College's District Board of Trustees.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Evaluates and tests software and hardware products
•Keeps the enterprise network documented and operational
•Installs, tests and provides network technical support
•Configures and upgrades network communications equipment and software systems on network servers
•Evaluates network server performance and reports to management
•Analyzes, assesses, determines and proposes network configuration changes
•Participates in the planning and development of procedures for the operation of the network
•Assists in the enterprise system disaster recovery program
•Supports application activities that require specialized systems technical expertise
•Schedules and prioritizes work to accommodate IT and customer needs while minimizing impact on current projects
•Recommends new communications equipment and software products
•Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science field from an accredited institution and seven (7) years of experience in networking or computing, with a minimum of one (1) year experience maintaining network equipment
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
•Knowledge of network operating systems, protocols, architectures, designs, and equipment configuration
•Knowledge of authentication, network services access policies and related internal and external network security considerations
•Knowledge of current and developing information technology services requirements in a large educational institution
•Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse community
•Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
•Ability to write and develop IT related documentation, reports, and procedure manuals
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where partial information is available
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
•Ability to effectively present information to management and other IT personnel
•Ability to successfully manage, coordinate and deploy complex technical projects
•Ability to train new or existing employees on departmental operational practices and procedures
•Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
