Job Summary


The Staff Associate, Single Stop/SNAP provides support to the Program Director and the Outreach Coordinator as the primary contact for the Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP) grant and assists in the program outreach and intake activities. Temporary Position.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Contributes to the daily operations of all MDC Single Stop sites
  • Conducts SNAP intakes for clients and assists with the application preparation and submission
  • Facilitates SNAP outreach activities and assists with tracking and recording information
  • Works as parts of a cross functional team that is developing and implementing strategies to strengthen the MDC community and address the root cause of hunger
  • Attends meetings and in service training sessions as required
  • Assists in coordinating SNAP appointments
  • Follows up with students, immediate household members and agencies regarding referrals and outcomes
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Requirements


  • Associate's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of related customer service experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Possess strong understanding of SNAP and social service programs
  • Ability to make proper referrals
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet SNAP grant objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other related computer programs
  • Possess organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff
