Job Summary

The Web Manager manages the websites for the Miami Dade College Foundation and the Office of Alumni Relations including regular maintenance, content entry, and development of new functionality and design improvements with a focus on user experience. The position also assists with search engine marketing strategies and email marketing communications. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College's District Board of Trustees.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures all website content is accurate, current and aligns with branding, design and editorial standards of the College, MDC Foundation and Alumni Relations
  • Leads the development, redesign and daily maintenance of visually appealing websites and landing pages that are mobile friendly, user friendly and complies with web accessibility standards
  • Coordinates seamless data integrations with web-based applications
  • Implements strategies to increase search engine traffic to websites and ensures primary landing pages are optimized for user intent
  • Researches, analyzes and implements innovative web functionality, design and marketing strategies aligned with best practices
  • Designs and develops mobile-responsive email marketing templates and assists with execution of strategies to improve email deliverability and performance
  • Tracks and measures web and email communications, develops monthly metrics reports, and uses data-driven insights to increase reach, relevance and engagement
  • Assist with web content development and digital multimedia projects as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive experience in website management or digital communications; professional web content writing experience; or Master's degree in related field and two (2) years of progressive experience in website management or digital communications
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals, and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Strong front-end knowledge and experience managing, designing and maintaining complex, database-driven, consumer-facing websites
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery and content management systems (CMS)
  • Experience developing mobile websites using responsive design techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of web security hardening standards, web content accessibility standards, usability testing techniques and site performance improvements
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics, SEO and search engine marketing tactics
  • Experience developing content for the web and proficiency in evolving digital communications best practices and new technologies
  • Experience with web production tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud for image handling, publishing and design, presentation preparation and video production
  • Experience integrating with databases
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and use metrics to shape strategy and editorial decisions
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work in and bridge the creative with the technical across a variety of platforms and frameworks
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include on call weekend and evening assignments
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
