Job Summary


The Enterprise Solutions Business Analyst provides functional support activities for College's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. The position analyzes end-user requirements, responds to and resolve end-user requests/issues, participates in end-user support and training activities, acts in the role of analyst to define/refine business processes and supports end-user's reporting needs. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College's District Board of Trustees.


Duties & Responsibilities


•Partners with key stakeholders to analyze business processes and customer needs
•Performs fit/gap analysis and research of in-house, third-party or custom solutions to make objective recommendations for IT solutions based on industry best practices
•Develops functional specifications detailing the logic, configuration and security requirements to be implemented and perform supporting configuration steps
•Works closely with functional owners and uses knowledge of business processes to create new business workflows, identify and implement solutions to meet business objectives and support emerging priorities
•Collaborates with other business analysts and technical developers to provide Tier II production support
•Monitors the ongoing operation and performs activities to assist with performance tuning and troubleshooting of application issues to ensure the performance and features of the system
•Coordinates functional testing cycles, defects tracking and resolutions
•Maintains and supports organization's reports, and /or any other reporting mechanisms. Produces special reports as requested
•Develops and maintains appropriate documentation on requirements, functional specifications, testing procedures, and application configurations
•Provides documentation and training of new processes and functional features to end users
•Assists in the configuration of security and business controls, along with investigation and resolution of security incidents, to ensure a stable and secure computing environment
•Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements


•Master's degree in related field with three (3) years of progressive business analyst experience; or Bachelor's degree in related field with seven (7) years of progressive business analyst experience
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•At least two (2) years of experience in one or more enterprise financial suite modules including Assets, AP, Purchasing, AR, GL, Expenses, Contracts, and Grants.
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and Procedures
•Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X operating system
•Working knowledge of SQL queries
•Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range
•of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
•Ability to work independently when performing analytical tasks
•Ability to apply broad business knowledge and practical experience to the analysis/solution
generation process
•Demonstrated experience working with end-users to analyze needs and define requirements
•Demonstrated experience developing training materials, training and supporting end-users
•Knowledge of the current and developing information technology services requirements in a
large educational institution
•Ability to estimate, plan, schedule, organize, coordinate and execute projects
•Ability to apply broad business knowledge and practical experience to the analysis/solution
•generation process
•Working knowledge of project process re-engineering approaches and techniques
•Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
•Working knowledge and solid understanding of rules, processes, and data flows of one or more modules including Assets, AP, Purchasing, AR, GL, Expenses, Contracts, and Grants.
•Working knowledge of one or more enterprise financial suites including PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, and Workday.
