Job Summary

The Instructional Designer for Computer Based Education (CBE) assists with the development of learning modules for courses, programs and training materials for CBE.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists faculty with the planning and development of web-based application tools to assist in the implementation of CBE programs
  • Assesses needs of the faculty in terms of their knowledge and experience in using instructional technology
  • Designs and implements faculty development activities that support the use of technology for learning modules
  • Works with faculty in designing, developing, and evaluating their courses using instructional design principles
  • Works with faculty in individual and group sessions to ensure curriculum improvements of targeted courses
  • Makes recommendations needed to support faculty development of online courses
  • Performs support technology used to create online courses
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Technology or related field from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of related work experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals, and objectives and policies and procedures
  • Excellent instructional design skills
  • Exceptional skills in developing web courses in a web course environment
  • Knowledge of learning management systems such as Blackboard, HTML, and other web technologies
  • Knowledge of graphic editing software and e-learning software
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting in a professional and positive manner
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include morning, evening and/or weekend assignments
