Job Description Summary:
The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is looking for a full-time Research Associate (RA) to work on research related to the causes and correlates of dementia. This position will require the ability to exercise independent judgement and to think critically and logically to overcome problems.
The RA will report to Dr. Melinda Power. This position will provide an opportunity for the RA to propose and pursue research questions that interest them within the context of Dr. Power’s broader research agenda related to aging and dementia. Additional opportunities exist for professional growth through interaction with the department, attendance at talks on campus, and other resources. This is a 9-month, term-limited position
- Data management, analysis, and data visualization
- Managing literature reviews
- Drafting portions of manuscripts
- Managing various administrative duties related to the conduct of epidemiologic research
- Contributing to the preparation of grant applications, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Require’s a master’s degree and 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area.Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
Desired Qualifications: MS or MPH in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field. Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficiency in R, STATA, and/or SAS; ability to work independently; interest in aging research
