Clark University’s Department of Language, Literature and Culture (LLC) seeks to fill the position of Office Assistant. Reporting to the Office Manager and LLC Chair, the successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the department and provide support to the department faculty. Duties and Responsibilities Included in a range of responsibilities, the Office Assistant will work closely with faculty to meet their administrative needs; order supplies; handle filing and copying; answer and direct phone calls; distribute mail; assist with various department events and special projects; and provide support to other staff as needed. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, with either 1+ years in a higher education setting, or 2+ years previous office experience. The candidate must be a self-starter with attention to detail and strong communicational and organizational skills. The ability to multi-task and prioritize is critical as is the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of faculty and students. Technical qualifications include a solid knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as the ability to learn new software. This is a part-time, 15 hours per week, 9 month position with paid sick and vacation time and free use of the campus facilities such as the library, fitness center and many more.
