ACCOUNTANT/FIN ANALYST SR

Duties: This position will partner with the Business Services finance team to lead consolidation and reporting of financial and operational information for division and University-wide deliverables. Utilizes standard University tools (Business Objects, Hyperion Planning, MS Office, etc) to support and improve on this reporting process and its output. Ensures use of analysis and reporting best practices across the Division and assists with training and development in the departments. Strong client orientation is crucial to this role given its support of multiple business units across the Division.

This position also provides expertise and partnership to operational leaders and provide financial expertise for multiple cost centers/business units through monitoring operational performance, leading financial forecasting and budgeting, evaluating cost effectiveness of existing and proposed programs or investments, and exploring investment alternatives to ensure optimal use of resources (strategic analysis). In all cases, industry appropriate standards and benchmarks will be expected to be incorporated into analysis.

Additionally, this position is expected to propose and contribute to strategic planning/projects, assume a leadership position in financial project teams, and lead continuous improvement of fiscal operations in both financial reporting and business partnering capacities.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and 5 years to 7 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. CPA desirable.

Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, data analysis, analytical tools (spreadsheets, report writers, databases), and productivity software. Training on University financial systems is highly desirable. Comfort in analyzing and reporting on complex information. Excellent inter-personal and communication (written and oral) skills. Applicants must have a strong sense of accountability and stewardship for University resources. Ability to implement sound financial policies and practices with diverse clients.
