General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics in the Mike Cottrell College of Business. This is a ten-month, tenure-track position, which is subject to funding. The start date is August 1, 2018. The MCCB is an AACSB-accredited college of business that offers programs on five campuses in the North Georgia region. The MCCB serves more than 4,000 students in our service area. The position will be located at the Dahlonega campus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • This position requires teaching undergraduate and possibly graduate economics courses and contributing to a professional, respectful, and collegial college culture.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to innovative learning; produce relevant research in peer-reviewed journals; and engage with the business community to further the goals of the Mike Cottrell College of Business.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as the interpersonal abilities to successfully work with students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Ph.D. or DBA in Economics or a closely related field is required at time of hire.
