Advertised Job Summary: The Communications Manager serves as the principal communicator for the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, working at the direction of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy while reporting into the health sciences brand team within the Office of Communications & Public Affairs. The incumbent will execute the integrated communications strategy for the College of Pharmacy, helping achieve its objectives through communications to alumni, students, faculty, partners and prospective students. They will create content that builds awareness of, drives engagement with and enhances the reputation of the College of Pharmacy by relying on their expertise in written and visual communication in print, on the web, through social media and by attaining coverage in earned media. The Communications Manager will work independently on projects prioritized by the College and will collaborate with colleagues throughout the Office of Communications & Public Affairs on projects that are deemed shared priorities of the College and the University. They will be responsible for ensuring that the story of the College is told in an engaging way to enhance its reputation for academic and research excellence.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Master's degree and 2 years professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor's degree and 4 years related experience. Two years of experience in communications, marketing or public relations role or other relevant professional experience in communications.
