The Center for Engineering in Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks a Senior Program Research Officer to manage the seed grant and other programs for the newly formed center.
The University of Virginia Board of Visitors has recently invested $5,000,000 in Strategic Investment Funds to foster collaborative research in the area of Engineering and Medicine. This investment will be matched 1:1 by the School of Medicine and the School of Engineering and Applied Science. The Center for Engineering in Medicine will nucleate basic, clinical, and translational EIM research involving partners from all interested UVa schools and departments.
A Senior Research Program Officer who has the requisite experience level and training background is now essential to ensure successful execution of the program's goals. Duties will include personal outreach, networking, and communication; oversight of multiple complex projects; budget oversight; and development of program material and marketing.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, Nursing, Public Health, or a closely related field, by the start date. Candidates must also have 4 or more years of experience working in biomedical engineering, biotechnology, health care, health care technology, or a related field.
