Job Description

The Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs seeks applications and nominations for a tenure-track position as assistant professor with teaching and research interests in public policy. Primary responsibilities of the positions include:
  1. Conducting a program of research leading to scholarly publications
  2. Teaching graduate courses in the MPA and Ph.D. programs
  3. Internal service
  4. Outreach activities related to research


Applicants for this position are expected to demonstrate high potential for scholarly research and publication as well as teaching excellence. An earned doctorate in public policy, economics, sociology or related fields is required at the time of appointment.

Application Deadline

Screening will begin October 15th, 2017 and continue until a suitable candidate is hired. We will be conducting interviews at meetings of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management in Chicago, IL, November 2-4, 2017.
