Master’s Degree and three (3) years of full time experience in digital technology preferably in dental laboratory setting OR an Associate's degree and 7 years’ experience in digital technology may be considered. Must be skilled in the application of digital dental laboratory technology specifically in CAD/CAM design, 3D printing, scanning and milling. Must be adept in computer use, including the ability to use and troubleshoot laboratory software, and navigate Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Power Point.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s certificate in Dental Technology qualification.Two (2) or more years of experience in lecturing for continuing education in dental laboratory digital technology. Experience in management/supervision of digital services in dental laboratory.

Brief Description of Duties:
This position is expected to perform at a high level and must be skilled in the application of digital dental laboratory technology, specifically in CAD/CAM design, scanning, digital milling and 3D printing. In addition, the incumbent will provide instruction, support research and participate in continuing education programs in order to support the newly developed Canter for Implant and Digital Technology (CIDT). This position will serve as the manager for the CIDT and be essential in the implementation of digital technology, as well as assisting in developing a digital curriculum and a sustainable model for the CIDT.

Instructional responsibilities:

  • Preparation of instructional materials and programs for the pre and post residents and students.
  • Instructions of the technical component of dental technology as appropriate to the dental technicians and faculty.
  • Curriculum development coordination for dental laboratory technicians with the possibility of a future program.
  • Participate in School of Dental Medicine Continuing Education Program.
Administrative responsibilities:

  • Planning and operation of all aspects of the CIDT laboratory.
  • Budget preparation for the CIDT laboratory.
  • Introduction and support of new and emerging digital CAD/CAM technology in the CIDT.
  • Management and supervision of staff and students, and faculty working in the CIDT laboratory.
  • Oversight of dental laboratory research projects.
  • Quality assurance for digital restorations and devices.
Research responsibilities:

  • Provide instructions, support research and participate in continuing education programs.
  • Development of a financially sustainable model for the CIDT laboratory.
  • Implement a dental laboratory which includes facility design and equipment purchase reflecting current concepts in digital dental technology.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Special Notes:

This is a full time position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
