Posting Information: Western Carolina University seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology to begin August 1, 2018. This is a 9-month full-time tenure-track position. Application review will begin December 1 and will continue until the position is filled. This faculty member will teach a combination of undergraduate courses (for example, General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Health Psychology, Human Neuropsychology, Biological Psychology, statistics and research methods) and graduate courses (for example, Advanced Psychopathology, Courses in area of expertise, assessment and/or intervention courses) depending upon specific area of specialization. Importantly, as a teacher-scholar, the faculty member will be expected to establish and maintain a program of meaningful disciplinary research that is engaging to and inclusive of both undergraduate and graduate (master's and doctoral) students. Supervision of student theses and dissertations are expected. WCU is an engaged regional comprehensive university, and all faculty are expected to use their professional knowledge and skills in service to the institution and the external community. In this regard, the clinical psychology faculty member should expect to play an active role in training, supervising, and supporting graduate students in our public-facing Psychological Services Clinic.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Doctorate degree (PhD or PsyD) from an APA accredited program in clinical psychology or a closely related field in psychology is required (ABD will be considered with evidence supporting realistic anticipation of completion by start date. The doctorate degree must be completed before the appointment begins).

Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience is desired. Demonstration or potential for developing an independent research program. Desirable: Comfort in teaching within a scientist-practitioner model graduate program with a cognitive-behavioral orientation, emphasizing empirically validated practices and interventions. Licensed or license- eligible in North Carolina as a Practicing Psychologist is desired.
