Assistant Professor - Analytical Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is seeking an outstanding individual with a strong commitment to excellence in both teaching and research for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting in August 2018. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of application in chemistry or a related discipline with a strong analytical focus (such as environmental chemistry, etc.). A minimum of 12 months of relevant post-doctoral experience (or equivalent experience in industry) and a demonstrated history of research success (including but not limited to: impactful publications, funded grant applications, and conference presentations) is required. Priority will be given to applicants who have designed research programs tailored to the training of students at the undergraduate and masters-levels. The workload for the successful candidate will be 40% research, 40% teaching and 20% service to the department and/or university. Job duties include the development and presentation of successful teaching materials, managing an active and externally funded research team, and contributing to departmental and university endeavors. The full teaching load is 15 contact hours per academic year and may include upper division lecture and laboratory courses.
