Summary of Job Duties

In Support of Walton Career Services, the Career Coach job duties include providing career path management guidance and support. The job duties include but are not limited to assisting current Walton College undergraduate, graduate and alumni with job search strategy, the use of current technology related to job searching including but not limited to Handshake, VMock, and Optimal Resume, building a personal brand, resume revision, interview preparation, and offer evaluation and negotiation. The Career Coach will also work with students to identify internship opportunities, meet eligibility requirements for internships, and manage the internship process from application to completion. This position will manage the Career Closet and support and assist with all Business Career Fairs, programs, workshops, information sessions, class presentations, company visits, and special workshops/events.

Regular, non-disruptive, and reliable attendance is an essential job duty, as well as the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • The formal equivalent of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least one year of higher education working experience
  • At least one year of experience working with students in a higher education setting
