Job Description


The Network & VoIP Engineer is primarily responsible for providing senior-level technical expertise in the areas of Networking and VoIP Telephony. This person will lead project discovery efforts, write statements of work, execute project plans, and resolve advanced escalated support requests in their area of expertise. They will also work to continuously advance personal and organizational technical abilities, ensuring CORE is providing high-value solutions and services to clients. As a senior leader in the organization, the Network & VoIP Engineer must be a champion of CORE's culture, leading by example and promoting camaraderie whenever possible.


• Provide senior-level technical expertise for client-facing Network & VoIP services

o Complete presale project discovery, scope definition, solution design, and statement of work drafting

o Perform technical oriented tasks as outlined and assigned on ConnectWise project plan

o Resolve advanced service ticket incidents escalated to SME team

• Continuously advance personal and organizational technical abilities

o Earn and maintain applicable advanced technical certifications

o Support and promote the technical skill development of CORE's Managed Services Team

o Research and recommend innovative new technologies, tactics, and strategies

o Collaborate with CORE's technology partners to evaluate new product features and roadmaps

• Serve as an advocate and champion of CORE's culture

o Lead by example, mentor peers, and help to provide an exceptional experience for all people

o Promote camaraderie and celebrate the accomplishments of others

• Advanced technical skillset in LAN/WAN design and troubleshooting

• Advanced technical skillset in Windows operating systems: Windows (XP,7,8,10) Window Server (SBS,2008 R2,2012, etc.)

• Proficient with typing, use of Microsoft Office Applications, and the Internet


• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in an IT support or consulting role working directly with end users

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience with VoIP Telephony configuration, setup, and troubleshooting

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience with LAN and WAN configuration, setup, and troubleshooting


• A BA/BS in related field is preferred

• One or more of the following industry certifications Net+, MCSA/E, MOS, CCNA, are preferred

• Possesses valid driver's license and proof of insurance, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation


• Frequently communicates with co-workers, customers, and vendors in person, on the telephone, and on the computer to provide assistance

• Frequently operates a motor vehicle while traveling to client site

• Frequently exposed to outside elements when traveling to client site

• Frequently sits and/or stands for long periods of time

• Frequently uses the computer with fingers and hands for documentation, research, and troubleshooting

• Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered room

• Frequently views the computer to perform duties

• Frequently bends, stoops, kneels, or climbs when installing or moving computers, monitors, servers, etc.

• Occasionally lifts objects such as office supplies, computers, monitors, and servers with weight up to 50 pounds
