Essential functions of this position:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to two departments; Anthropology and International Studies. Administrative support will include providing reports, maintaining budget records/files, completing day-to-day correspondence and tasks (e.g. travel, electronic requisitioning, personnel forms, work orders, text book orders, honors society applications, tracking majors/minors, maintaining student files, preparing files for transfer orientation, webpage maintenance, brochure, marketing/advertising, scheduling and supervising work-study students.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Must have excellent customer service skills
Must possess basic knowledge of accounting principles and have the ability to maintain detailed budget spreadsheets
Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office software products, to include Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must have strong organizational skills, with an ability to assess priorities and multi-task
Must have strong oral and written communication skills
Must have a good grammar, spelling and punctuation as well as a knowledge of standard university office forms and correspondence formats
Must be able to apply knowledge to support customer service and to assist with answering most general questions related to the department

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Knowledge of the regulations and policies of the department, College of Arts and Sciences, University of North Carolina, and the State of North Carolina which are applicable to the work
Knowledge of Banner financial and student information system
Specific knowledge of the formats involved in the preparation of documents that are necessary for the teaching and service mission of the department
One year clerical word processing experience in an office environment

Recruitment Range: $32,000 - $34,194
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 59
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
