The Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the campus network. The primary support responsibilities including: Administration of network management systems, monitoring network performance, switch and router installation, wiring closet management, and troubleshooting of network problems.
Qualifications: An Associate’s Degree or higher in a computer-related field is required. A combination of 3 years’ higher education in any field and/or experience in a computer related field is required. Requires good interpersonal skills and good organization skills. Requirement of lifting and moving heavy items weighing more than fifty pounds. Occasional overtime and subject to call-in.
Responsibilities: Administers network diagnosis and network management hardware, software, and related equipment. Monitors and maintains network documentation, network material and supply inventories. Responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and management reporting of communications network problems. Utilizes software and hardware network management tools for problem isolation and resolution. Installs network related hardware and software including network interface cards, switches, and routers. Other duties as assigned.
Preferred: Two years’ experience supporting computer networks, Linux administration, and Cisco routers and switches preferred.
