Job description

Duties: Assist with the overall management of the University's retirement program, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans; act as the liaison with external and internal auditors, master trustee and IRS agents in the administration and audit of all employee benefit programs; liaison with external and internal legal counsel on legislative developments affecting the retirement plans; prepare forms 5500 and summary annual reports for 401(a), 403(b) and defined benefit plans; prepare annual IRS 401(m) nondiscrimination testing for Matching Plan; reconcile trusts for 401(a), 403(b) and defined benefit plans, including the master trust for the defined benefit plan; review of plan documents to assure compliance; assist employees with questions or problems relating to their retirement accounts; work with vendors on various annual disclosures (e.g. QDIA notice, Fee Disclosure).

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required with an emphasis in finance or math. Experience in retirement plan administration; working knowledge of ERISA and required tax filings; excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects is desired. Applicant should be proficient in Excel.
