Duties: The Associate Director of Campus Recreation for Facility Operations is a part of the leadership team of the Department of Campus Recreation within the Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics serving a diverse University Community of over 40,000. The Associate Director of Campus Recreation for Facility Operations is a highly interactive role that collaborates with the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Campus Recreation, the Director of Programs, and other key stakeholders to identify and provide innovative outreach to the students, faculty, staff and constituents of the University of Pennsylvania. The position is directly responsible for the overall leadership and operational direction of the Pottruck Recreation Center, Fox Fitness Center, Ringe Squash Center, Aquatics, and Department-wide Risk Management. The Associate Director coordinates with DRIA facility management to indirectly manage preventive and corrective maintenance and custodial operations. Position responsibilities include setting and reporting area goals, developing & implementing operational plans, establishing scheduling and operational policies, budget development and fiscal responsibility, providing operational reports, and maximizing indoor recreational space. The position will work collaboratively with the Membership Services area to include, creating & implementing policies, creating and implementing strategies for guest service, recruitment, and retention.

Qualifications: BA/BS required, Master's degree in Sports Administration, Recreation, Athletic/Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Business Administration and/or related field strongly preferred plus 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; relevant and progressive professional experience in collegiate recreation in a full time professional position . Previous supervisory experience with knowledge of human resource management theories and best practices in staff development, group dynamics and motivation techniques. Ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays as may be required.
