Duties: The Brain Behavior Laboratory is recruiting a Clinical Research Coordinator A to help investigators conduct behavioral and functional neuroimaging research examining how symptoms of irritability in youth are associated with abnormalities in brain development. The position will draw on a wide range of skills and provide learning opportunities in diverse areas. Responsibilities will include assisting with: clinical assessment of psychiatric symptoms; recruiting, scheduling, and assessing subjects; acquisition of data for behavioral and multi-modal MRI experiments; maintenance of regulatory documents and correspondence. Opportunities for data analysis and writing manuscripts abound.

Qualifications: BA/BS and 1-3 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. The candidate must have a passion for science, superb interpersonal skills, and technical affinity. We anticipate that most candidates will have an educational background in Neuroscience/Psychology or Biology/Premed, and plans to pursue a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a combined MD/PhD degree. An interest in working directly with psychiatric patient populations is essential. Knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations is desirable. While not required, proficiency with Unix/Linux operating systems is preferred. Experience with data analysis and the statistical packages R is a major asset.
Above all, the applicant should demonstrate strong motivation, empathy, and excellent organizational skills.
Must pass Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Act (also known as Act 73) background checks, within 30-90 days of employment.
