Provides specialized administrative support for key members of department faculty and laboratory staff, including grant related activities, manuscript submission tasks and other office and laboratory support. Edit, proof, submit and track grant budget material and journal publication materials.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate's degree with one to three years of related experience, working knowledge of software applications used to support office functions, and familiarity with Internet resources required. Effective organizational, time management and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to multitask and attend to details required.
Working familiarity with NIH guidelines, online submissions platforms to scientific journals, scientific terms, EndNote, Excel and InfoEd software.
Computer skills for formatting documents (Word, figure insertions) and working with online form documents of a large volume of highly technical and specialized manuscripts and grants according to journal-specific and NIH guidelines.
Ability to understand and interpret the scientific nature of the material (for proof editing on line ) and submit documents and proposals electronically.
A 4-month probationary period is required.
