Advertised Job Summary
The Nutritionist will assist with coordinating one or more research studies, including one currently funded by the NCI and NHLBI, examining the impact of lifestyle interventions on body weight and other chronic disease risk factors. The Nutritionist will help develop intervention content, coordinate aspects of the study (participant assessments and meetings), and conduct study intervention classes. This employee will conduct one-on-one in-person and phone counseling sessions as well as conduct group sessions with study participants.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, nutrition education, or other related area and 1 year experience in a clinical, public health or institutional setting; or a bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, community nutrition and 3 years experience.Preferred Qualifications
Registered Dietitian credential (or equivalent) with 3 years' experience assisting with clinical research studies.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Expertise in or experience with conducting dietary intervention trials. Cooking and food preparation skills. Background in exercise science or certified personal trainer certification. Training and background in plant-based dietary counseling strategies.
