RESEARCH STUDY TECHNICIAN, School of Medicine, Pulmonary Center (9015/I0517)
The Boston University Pulmonary Center, Bosmann Lab is recruiting a Research Technician for projects on infection-associated immunology and lung inflammation. Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and sepsis are life-threatening complications of bacterial infections with profound disturbances of the immune system. In the current absence of definitive treatment options, ARDS and sepsis represent an enormous problem for health systems worldwide. Our laboratory is dedicated to obtain a better mechanistic understanding of the molecular processes during the development of these inflammatory diseases. We seek a highly motivated Research Technician for performing and assisting in our studies which include animal models of disease, cell cultures, immunology methods and molecular biology (e.g. ELISA, PCR, Western blotting, lung histology). The remaining time will be dedicated to basic lab management and organization. We offer training opportunities related to our exciting research projects and work experience in an international team of scientists/physicians. Our laboratory will transfer to Boston University from Mainz, Germany in January 2018.
12+ months of experience and Bachelor's degree required.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We are a VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
