This is a 50% FTE fixed-term position. The term concludes one year from the start date and may be extended based on department's operational need.

JOB PURPOSE:

The HR Program Associate reports to the AVP for Staff and Executive Compensation and will support activities related to program coordination for the Staff Compensation and Executive Compensation teams.

The Staff Compensation team develops the university's staff compensation program for non-academic, temporary, and casual staff employees. The program includes job description development and classification, the annual salary program and implementation, bonus/incentive programs, and compliance monitoring. The Executive Compensation team administers pay programs for senior level faculty and staff and serves as the liaison between the school/VP organizations and the Board of Trustees' Committee on Compensation. Core duties include, but are not limited to:

-Serve as a resource on staff and executive compensation programs and processes

-Work with team members to assemble confidential and sensitive materials for committee meetings

-Coordinate and/or perform data and document management for a secure Compensation Committee website to ensure data integrity and appropriate access

-Coordinate and/or perform data and information input into a market analysis application

-Maintain and post new/updated documents to internal website for clients

-Perform compensation data verification reviews and compile data as needed

-Maintain personnel and compensation-related files

-Responsible for performing administrative processes and procedures, including purchases, invoice verifications, and developing expenditure summaries to track expenses to stay within budget

-Provide general administrative support to team members, including scheduling meetings, preparing for and performing meeting logistics, reviewing and delivering confidential documents
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:

Associate degree and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and apply general human resources policies using problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgment, tact, and discretion.
  • Ability to consistently follow through with projects and assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong and effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of Stanford human resource management systems, such as PeopleSoft, Oracle financials and time/leave systems strongly preferred. Experience using email and internet.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, and use a telephone.
  • Occasionally write by hand, twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, sort/file paperwork.
