Director of ADA Compliance and ADA Coordinator
The Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance at CU Boulder is accepting applications for a Director of ADA Compliance and ADA Coordinator. The Director will serve as the campus authority on all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-related issues, help ensure compliance with the ADA on the Boulder campus and provide information, expertise, leadership, and guidance to the campus on disability-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with Title I of the ADA by overseeing employment accommodation process, including review of determinations and implementation of accommodations, and supervise Title I Employment Program Manager
- Ensure compliance with Title II of the ADA and corresponding provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Fair Housing Act, and relevant state law. Oversee physical and programmatic accessibility issues, including sidewalks, buildings, and facilities, as well as non-academic programs to ensure compliance obligations are met. Oversee operation of sign language interpreting, captioning program for faculty, staff, visitor, non-curricular student needs, accessibility for commencement, and supervise Title II Accessibility Program Manager.
- Provide strategic vision and leadership to the campus broadly regarding all accessibility issues.
- Manage ADA funds for employment accommodations and communication access.
- Provide on-going training and education to campus employees and departments.

What we can offer:
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

What we require:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least five years of progressive experience managing disability access issues, including workplace accommodations and oversight of physical and programmatic accessibility in a multi-building environment.
- At least two years of experience in supervising staff.
What you'll need:
- Extensive professional training, education and expertise in the area of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Fair Housing Act which can only be gained by completion of an advanced course of study and/or specialized experience.
- Specialized knowledge and skills in the area of employment law and also requires specialized training in understanding and interpreting statutes, regulations and case law, which is often complex and require a high level of analytical thinking.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and evaluating medical and diagnostic disability documentation.
- Significant and solid research skills for responding to unique client needs.
- Ability to network and build relationships with other campus offices (University Counsel, Disability Services, Procurement Service Center, Employee Relations, Housing and Dining Services, Facilities Management, and external campus resources such as vendors, medical personnel, etc.)
What we'd like you to have:
- J.D. or advanced degree
- At least three years of experience working in a higher education setting.
- At least three years of professional employee supervisory experience.
Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified.
