The University of North Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Elementary Education.  Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education from an accredited university (ABD will be considered). A closely related in field in education (i.e. Curriculum and Instruction, etc.) will be considered if the candidate possesses a minimum of 30 graduate hours in elementary or early childhood education. The candidate should be eligible to possess teaching credentials in Elementary Education and/or Early Childhood Education. In addition, the candidate should possess recent P-6 experience, excellent verbal and writing skills; ability to teach undergraduate and graduate classes in Elementary Education; ability to advise students; and ability to work with students as well as P-6 schools and administrators. Additional duties shall include: performance of university and community service initiatives; active and involved leadership role in college and university committees; and involvement with research activities.


Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education from an accredited university (ABD will be considered). A closely related in field in education (i.e. Curriculum and Instruction, etc.) will be considered if the candidate possesses a minimum of 30 graduate hours in elementary or early childhood education; Eligibility to possess teaching credentials in Elementary Education and/or Early Childhood Education is required and recent successful P-6 experience is required.
Desired qualifications include: Teaching experience at the college/university level preferred and experience or interest in directing student research desired.
