University Information Systems (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service and technical expertise. Through the development of enterprise applications, UIS supports the University as a whole with systems used by students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others.

The integrated PeopleSoft landscape includes Campus Solutions, HCM, FSCM, and CRM. The PeopleSoft Developer role exists to serve as a technical expert in managing the underpinnings of the Campus Solutions (CS) and other PeopleSoft environments. The position will work with the CS application managers in UIS to manage enhancements, bundle applications, testing, and production support. UIS will be relying on this position to bring critical technical skills to CS and other applications, including PeopleSoft Integration Broker and PeopleSoft software development lifecycle.

This position has the ability to work from home, which must be within a 90 minute commuting distance,on some days and work at the office the other days. There is also a potential that this position would need to work after hours and/or on-call, if a production issue arises, but this is not an often occurrence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The PeopleSoft Developer position will be responsible for the following within Campus Solutions modules:

  • Application development such as:
    • Required enhancements
    • Integration Broker development/management
    • Configuration updates/changes
    • Compare report analysis / testing from bundle applications
    • Retrofits and analysis of technical impacts
    • Research and troubleshooting of software errors
  • Communication with UIS and campus offices, as needed
  • Facilitating collaboration and encouraging knowledge and technical process sharing
  • Production support - being on call, troubleshooting
  • Reviewing and aiding general development efforts
  • Developing technical specifications and unit test plans
  • Primary support for PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, can also include CRM, HCM or Finance application support
  • Support Campus Solutions Admissions module and Admission Application Web Services

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, electrical engineering, or other IT related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a PeopleSoft Application Developer, or in other closely related IT occupation, which must include demonstrated use of :
    • PeopleTools Application Designer
    • PeopleSoft Application Engine, Component interfaces, Integration Broker, App Package PeopleCode and Debugging experience
    • Testing with PeopleSoft applications
    • Oracle SQL experience
    • PeopleTools 8.49 or newer
    • PeopleSoft Campus Solutions v9.0 or newer
    • PeopleSoft regulatory bundle or PUM application, installation and support
    • Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) for ongoing improvements in PeopleSoft-
  • Strong verbal and written skills are required due to customer support requirements of the job


Alternative Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, electrical engineering, or other IT related field.
  • One and a half (1.5) years of experience as a PeopleSoft Application Developer, or in other closely related IT occupation, which must include demonstrated use of :
    • PeopleTools Application Designer
    • PeopleSoft Application Engine, Component interfaces, Integration Broker, App Package PeopleCode and Debugging experience
    • Testing with PeopleSoft applications
    • Oracle SQL experience
    • PeopleTools 8.49 or newer
    • PeopleSoft Campus Solutions v9.0 or newer
