NATURE OF WORK:

The Adult and Child Center for Health Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) has an opening for a full-time Senior Professional Research Assistant (SrPRA) to work as a Research Training Project Manager. This SrPRA position exists to provide research support to principal investigators/fellowship directors, co-directors and scholars. The selected candidate will be the project manager on multiple research training programs, including the PCOR Scholars Program, SCORE Fellowship, the Colorado Innovative Health Research and Leadership Training Program, and the IMPACT K12 Training Program. This person will coordinate and assist with all activities related to the training programs and will have responsibility for day-to-day oversight of research training programs. He or she will be responsible for the timelines to accomplish specified activities and tasks and the coordination of activities for research training fellowships. He or she will meet regularly with the Program Directors and co-directors to plan and execute the educational components of the training programs.

This position will report to the Principal Investigator(s)/Fellowship and K12 Directors of the programs.

SUPERVISION PROVIDED:



The successful candidate in this position may supervise students or other PRAs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



General tasks include, but are not limited to:
  • Meeting regularly with Program Directors and other program faculty for programmatic planning
  • Program planning and tracking of program deliverables
  • Lead meetings - material preparation, minutes, action items, follow-up
  • High-level budgeting and expense tracking of the overall program budgets
  • Coordinate all grant reporting (progress reports) with program funders
  • Assist with grant submissions for new training programs
  • Analyze published program guidance for grants to ensure compliance with federal guidelines
  • Oversee development and maintenance of data tracking systems
  • Assist in development and implementation of recruitment plans
  • Respond to information requests, track inquiries, maintain applicant files, assist with interviews, selection process, and administrative issues
  • Develop orientation and training procedures for trainees
  • Plan and schedule all curriculum for trainees - provide curriculum recommendations, coordinate development, administration and evaluation
  • Manage Tuition/Travel/research expenses related to trainees
  • Manage meetings/calendar invites/web-conferencing arrangements for training program and other related events
  • Create and manage effective communication for outreach and keeping stakeholders updated
  • Coordinate with scholars as they progress through their coursework
  • Other duties as determined by Directors/supervisors

Qualifications

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work as a team member and work effectively with diverse groups
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with all software in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Detail-oriented to manage logistics and keep multiple programs running smoothly
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Public Health or a related discipline; or commensurate experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in research
  • Project/program management experience, preferably in a training program
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with all software in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Ability to work as a team member and work effectively with diverse groups


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with budgeting and post-award grant monitoring
  • Experience with federally funded research fellowship or training programs
  • Past employment in a university environment
  • Management of multiple research projects
