This position plays a critical role in the University level strategic plan objective 3 Undergraduate Student Success. Approximately ¼ of the freshmen undergraduate student body begin their college careers living off campus. Some are off campus and first generation students. At the University of Kentucky, we know that this student type is most at risk because it is so difficult to make a connection to the campus culture and its services that support academic success. This position is critical in providing outreach and services to mainly Off Campus freshmen students. This position will be the only one of its kind at the university level with complete oversight of Off Campus freshmen students though the position will also be involved in working with all students who are living off campus. This position will work closely with Colleges, financial aid, Presentation U, and many other services and resources in developing campus-wide programming and persistence techniques in advising. Services provided by this position are critical in aiding our retention and degree completion rates for off campus students. She/he will develop a strategic plan along with data analyses and evaluation to demonstrate positive outcomes.
