Required Qualifications:
• High level of computer literacy with experience in online research.

• Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and experience with other components of Microsoft Office suite to organize, format and present data.

• Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills with the ability to synthesize and organize material from multiple sources and articulate findings clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

•Highly organized and able to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously; including ability to prioritize work projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

•Experience in a customer service role or applicable service-oriented position. Ability to listen, interpret and process information and respond with suggestions based on the needs of the end-user.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.

•Proficiency in online tools for foundation, corporate and individual research.

•Proficiency in LexisNexis, ResearchPoint, Tableau, Banner, Foundation Directory Online, NOZA, Raiser’s Edge Fundraising Software, SPSS, SQL or similar databases.

•Ability to work from a solution driven prospective; able to recognize problems and develop detailed solutions with a plan for implementation.

•Adept at working both independently as well as collaboratively.

•Previous experience training on process improvements and technology.

•Previous work experience in fundraising support role.

Job Description:
Responsible for performing prospect development tasks including prospect identification, research and analytics. Conducts prospect research on individual, corporate and foundation major gift prospects. Also, researching best practices in other development related areas. Assists in recognizing and identifying the need for policies and procedure and proposes updates and modifications.

Job Duties:
• Conducts prospect research on individual, corporate and foundation major gift prospects.

•Identify, evaluate and recommend status of current and potential gift prospects and assess their ability to financially support the University.

•Meets with development staff to support activities, initiatives and programs. Assists in developing recommendations to help the Development team meet goals.

•Assists in training the Development team on technology.

•Provide research and analysis of biographical, philanthropic, professional and financial information of individual, foundation and corporate donors and prospects.

•Coordinate with other departments and campus offices, as needed, on the maintenance of critical information required for prospect identification and qualification.

•Prepare written profiles, rating memos, event bios and qualified lists to support the cultivation of individuals.

•Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

•Track prospects and donors through monitoring daily news, online “alerts” and utilizing internal information. Identify acquaintances through relationship mapping to facilitate institutional involvement.

•Assists in presentations of research and analysis projects done by the department.

•Assists in the identification and selection of new research resources. Assists in the evaluation and selection of vendor services.

•Assists in analyzing best practices for donor giving and identifies opportunities to improve business practices.

•Maintains and upholds the professional and ethical standards set by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).
