Job Description

Are you an art director who's ready for more ownership, growth and responsibility? Do you keep a notebook next to your bed, so when you wake up in the middle of the night you can jot down ideas? Do you sketch out ideas with a pencil before jumping on a computer? Do you believe in copy and art working together to create the best result? Do you see the execution of your ideas through all channels?

If "yes," then please read on.

We are looking for a passionate art director who believes in big ideas, brand stewardship, fresh design and meticulous execution, but you have to have the goods, which are:
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years working in an ad agency
  • Concept, Concept, Concept
  • Design layout skills and a portfolio that includes campaigns with core ideas that translate across multiple communication tactics (broadcast, in-store, digital, print, OOH, etc)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite software (current version is a must)
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Consistent creative problem solving skills
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to take creative direction and work collaboratively with teammates, especially a copywriter
  • A passion for and understanding of digital channels
  • Ability to comprehend a client's brand guidelines, and be a brand steward for the client work
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Drive and initiative
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, and execute many aspects of those projects quickly-often in a day
  • Familiarity and comfort with working in a Mac environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with outside vendors when directing a photo shoot, illustration, etc., to ensure the work meets the Agency's quality expectations

Here is what we need you to do:
  • Read and understand a creative brief
  • Meet with the account management team to discuss the requirements
  • Understand the client's business and target audience
  • Concept with your team/copywriter to generate fresh, creative ideas that are copy-strong and on-strategy
  • Present internally and grow to do so externally
  • Work with the creative director and be able to take direction
  • Pitch ideas
  • Produce sketches, storyboards or roughs to communicate ideas
  • Brief other members of the creative team
  • Work with the production department to commission photographers, artists and directors to work on projects
  • Conduct efficient vendor management and ensure the vision of the campaign is seen through execution
  • Understand and oversee prepress/print production
  • Keep up to date on all emerging technologies, popular culture and trends
  • Always have an "out there" idea that's smart and makes the creative director nervous
