General Summary: The University of North Georgia invites applications for a ten-month, full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Biology.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities include:
  • Teaching undergraduate courses including majors introductory biology, senior level animal physiology, and courses in specialty. The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; summer teaching opportunities are also available.
  • Scholarly work involving undergraduates
  • Advising students
  • Service to the department, university, and community
  • Professional development


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Ph.D. at the time of hire in biology or a related discipline.
  • Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to those who demonstrate content expertise and/or teaching experience in the field of animal physiology.
  • Expectations for this position are that 60% of the workload is dedicated to teaching and that 40% is divided between service and professional development.
  • The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in animal physiology.
  • Preference will also be given to candidates with training in comparative physiology or neuroethology.
