Requisition Title: Assistant Professor - Applied Mathematics - 1700981
The Department of Mathematics in the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream appointment in mathematics with a research specialty in Applied Mathematics. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence July 1, 2018.
Candidates in all areas of Applied Mathematics will be considered. The applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter, and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. Excellence in research will be demonstrated by a record of sustained contributions and publications in top ranked mathematics journals, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements by referees of top international stature. Evidence for excellence in teaching must be provided through teaching accomplishments, strong letters of reference, and the teaching statement submitted as part of the application. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct an innovative, competitive and independently funded research program.
