Advertised Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, reporting to the Executive Director, the Director for Membership Development serves as part of My Carolina's senior management team. Leads a team responsible for effective development and implementation of strategies intended to recruit and retain Association members (student and alumni) while also increasing corporate support for Association programming. The position interfaces with a variety of constituents and the My Carolina community by providing a high level of customer service exemplifying teamwork, tact, courtesy and confidentiality. This position may require some travel, evening and weekend work.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Master's degree and 5 years related program management experience, or bachelor's degree and 7 years related experience.
Experience in membership organizations required.Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred; Experience in membership organizations within higher education environments preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of University program goals and objectives. Demonstrated ability to use of software programs, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management. Ability to relate alumni programs to meeting University and Association goals and objectives. Demonstrated successful experience leading membership acquisition/retention programming; Demonstrated management skills and knowledge of management principles. Ability to make effective presentations to individuals, groups, businesses and community interest groups. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and staff, alumni, students, businesses and the general public. Strong organizational skills are required. Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively.
