Environmental Health and Safety
This position performs plans review according to current adopted codes and laws for code compliance on major/minor construction, renovation type projects for any FSU owned properties. Prepares and forwards review comments to design architects, engineers, and project managers on non-compliant issues. Coordinates and conducts inspections on permitted project for compliance with approved plans and specifications. Performs other miscellaneous duties associated with the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the section.
A high school diploma/equivalency and four years of experience in the field of construction or a related field, building code inspection, or plans review.
(Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.)
Licensure as a multi-discipline plans review and inspector (2 Disciplines) in the category of Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical in accordance with Florida Statue 468.
Knowledge of building, electrical, mechanical, standard gas, plumbing and fire codes; current practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in construction; and Florid Accessibility and Energy Codes.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with multiple professions and trades in a professional manner. Personal computer experience.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or ability to obtain.
Anticipated Salary Range
$45,000 - $55,000
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
