Video Maintenance Technician

The Television, Radio & Film department at Emerson College is looking to hire 3 Video Maintenance Technicians for our growing department. We're offering $20-25/hr for Technicians to work a part-time schedule at 19 hours per week.
This group is an integral part of all of productions put on by Emerson College and will be a huge part in making sure that all of our content is shared seamlessly.
Our technical gurus are mostly behind-the-scenes maintaining the universe of media technology for our facilities. The three individuals will be supervised by the Video Engineering Shop Manager.
Our ideal candidate will have some experience from a production environment, they will be enthusiastic about the field, and have great technical skills.
A typical day will include:
Repairs and modifications to electronic and mechanical video equipment throughout the campus.
Tracking repairs that are being made at the manufacturer's factory or at an off-campus repair facility.

Required Knowledge:
Basic skills that we need for this individual: • Knowledge of video systems
• Mechanical skills on a variety of equipment
• Intermediate computer skills
• Experience with installation & integration of equipment
• Knowledge of fiber
• Good communication skills - not everyone will be as tech savvy as you! You’ll have to the patient and friendly when speaking with with faculty, staff, and students

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
Nice to have, but not required:

Required Prior Work Experience:
2 to 3 years experience in video/television or similar production setting.
