Quality Technicians

Metal Flow is currently searching for committed individuals with precision measurement equipment experience to fill an off shift Quality Technician role in our Quality Lab.

The primary responsibilities of a Quality Technician include reviewing products according to customer driven and internally mandated controls to ensure that Metal Flow products are being manufactured with high quality and zero defects.

Additional responsibilities and job functions include:
  • Performing product layouts as a critical component of the PPAP/APQP, First and Last Piece Submissions, and some In Process checks using various types of measurement equipment including, but not limited to calipers, micrometers, attribute gages (ring gages, plug gages, snap gages, fingernail gages, etc.), variable gages (indicators, reverse indicators, CMM equipment, surface finish testing equipment, etc.), and cleanliness testing equipment.
  • Preparing job information including documents, gages, quality history, etc for production teams prior to the start of job setups.
  • Perform and monitor SPC on key characteristics as defined by Metal Flow customers and internal leadership teams.
  • Maintaining job files for production run data, first piece approvals, maintenance logs, visual alerts, etc.
  • Calibrate gaging and maintain calibration records for gages and other equipment.
  • Assist in the training of new production personnel in gages, gaging techniques, equipment, SPC, data collection, and Metal Flow quality policies and procedures.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining a neat, organized, and safe work environment consistent with Metal Flow standards.
  • Function as a contributing member of the Quality Department team.

Key Qualifications for this role include:
  • Knowledge of production environment gaging.
  • Understanding of and ability to read/interpret blueprints and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of key elements of SPC and how to apply/interpret data.
  • Basic math skills.
