The School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia seeks an experienced and accomplished Development Coordinator for Corporations and Foundations. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Advancement, the Development Coordinator for Corporates and Foundations will play a leadership role on a growing advancement team pursuing ambitious goals for fundraising ahead of the University's Bicentennial Campaign. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced professional to revitalize and grow philanthropy with Corporations and Foundations to support the academic and research mission at a large, diverse, and highly successful alumni population from one of the finest universities in the world.
Specific Job responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding corporations, corporate foundations, and private foundations. The incumbent is actively engaged in working to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector, as well as other key communities, which will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the University.
The successful candidates will provide expertise to advance the School and University's interests by researching and identification of sources of support, proactively seeking opportunities to generate new proposals based on corporate guidelines and interests, and by maintaining strong communication ties with corporate and foundation donors and prospects. The Role will also support and help build the School and University's brand in the corporate community.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and at least three years of development, research, and/or corporate and foundation related experience. Preference will be given to candidates with corporate and/or foundation experience, particularly with a college or university.
The chosen candidate will be a person of impeccable integrity, with an impressive track record of achieving sustained growth in annual giving for a university or other non-profit organization. We also invite applications from direct response marketing professionals with experience in the for-profit sector. The incumbent will bring a full complement of deep knowledge and skills to the position, and use her/his command of direct marketing, communications, data analytics, and project management to take the corporate and foundation's philanthropy program to new levels of achievement.
