DISABILITY RESOURCES ASSISTANT
Job Summary The Alternative Media Assistant assists the Alternative Media Specialist with the day-to-day operations of the Alternative Media Office. The ideal candidate will adhere to existing production standards and deadlines, work well with others, and maintain a professional work environment. Tasks will include assisting the Alternative Media Specialist with the following tasks: Manage the Alternative Media Production Queue; Process Alternative Media Requests ; Maintain Alternative Text equipment inventory; Prepare Alternative Text equipment for distribution to students; Assist students with Alternative Text equipment and software needs; Maintain a clean and organized office room; Retrieve student information from and archive data to DRC student database; Assist with office tours and assist departmental presentations; Research and share new developments in alternative text and assistive technology; Train new Production Assistant hires; Coordinate Reader staff by monitoring textbook deadlines, reassigning pages and chapters as needed, and performing quality control by processing audio. This position is also cross-trained in other areas of the Disability Resource Center, including Accommodated Testing, Closed Captioning, and front desk responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications Completion of an Associate's degree in appropriate field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
