The College of Business at Florida State University is seeking applicants to fill a tenure-track position in Risk Management and Insurance. The anticipated start date is Fall 2018. The position will be filled at the assistant or associate level; however, experience is preferred. The department’s Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance is one of the oldest and largest RMI programs in the nation, and consistently ranks among the top programs in the country. Close interaction among students, faculty members, alumni and the business community continues to be a hallmark of the program. Florida State University is located in Tallahassee – Florida’s capital city; a vibrant community that offers exceptional living conditions, cultural activities, and recreational opportunities.
As a preeminent, top-tier research university, Florida State University emphasizes both strong research and excellent teaching. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses, both in-person and online. Research leading to publications in premier journals is supported and expected. Service to the department, college, university, and profession is also expected.
Applicants must have a doctorate with a specialization in Risk Management/Insurance, or equivalent, from an AACSB-accredited program. Tenure-track status requires degree in-hand by August 2018. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to research and teaching excellence. Online teaching experience is strongly preferred.
