Coordinator of New Media

Miami University is seeking a Coordinator of New Media to work within the Athletic Communications Department to assist in the advancement of the department’s developing social media goals within Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and other social media platforms. The Coordinator of New Media will develop and oversee projects in conjunction with the goals of the Athletic Communications department and will work with administrators, coaches, student-athletes, alumni, marketing and other external units within the department.


Duties/Physical Demands: Oversee, develop, and define the department’s social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat) strategy in an effort to increase revenue for the department by growing the social media community, enhancing our gameday experience and elevating our brand on a national stage. This position will also be responsible for tracking Miami’s social media exposure and to make recommendations for future directions. Oversee video content and development for and the department’s YouTube page. This individual will be responsible for all video shooting/editing for Miami’s athletic website. Video examples include fan interaction, press conferences, player features, community outreach and other ideas through social media. Responsible for creating graphics for display at (splash pages), but also graphics for all social media platforms to help promote events and student-athletes. Other duties may include assisting with live video streaming of home athletic events and video replay for events in which it is required. Other streaming includes Facebook Live events and use of Periscope. Responsible for assisting production for video boards at football, basketball and hockey.  



Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree

Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, supervise multiple complex productions, meet overlapping deadlines, effectively motivate and manage student production workers

Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Flash, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, audio production software

Superior graphic design and video editing skills
