Professional Research Assistant / Senior Professional Research Assistant

The mHealth Impact Lab within the Department of Community and Behavioral Health, Colorado School of Public Health has an opening for a Professional Research Assistant (PRA) or Senior Professional Research Assistant (Sr. PRA).

This full time (40 hours per week) position reports directly to Dr. Sheana Bull, Director of the mHealth Impact Lab, and is responsible primarily for project management related to mobile and digital health evaluation efforts. This will include working with the mHealth Impact team to establish and track timelines, tasks and deliverables for each contract in the lab to evaluate mHealth solutions. This position may be at the level of Professional Research Assistant (PRA) or Senior Professional Research Assistant (Sr. PRA) depending on qualifications and experience.

NATURE OF WORK:

Business development (15%): The PRA will facilitate website maintenance, project curating and data management, tracking and reporting for existing external and internal projects and clients, maintaining and updating marketing materials and project portfolios.

Project management (35%): The PRA will serve as a liaison to each entity contracting with mHealth Impact. The PRA will assist with preparation of contracts and scope of work for each project. The incumbent will ensure that the mHealth Impact team meets all deliverables for each contract, and will assist with doing such tasks as IRB preparation, file management, recruitment for evaluation activities, survey design, data analysis, report writing and budget management.

Grant Writing (40%): The PRA will assist in developing new grant ideas and applications for internal and external grants for the mHealth Impact Lab.

Other Responsibilities (10%): The PRA will also assist with training student workers hired to help with single or multiple mHealth impact lab projects. Additionally, the PRA will assist with developing and maintaining the lab social media and web presence through our website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Dr. Sheana Bull will be directly responsible for supervising the PRA/Sr. PRA.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

The PRA/Sr. PRA will be responsible for supervision of students working in the mHealth Impact Lab.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
  • Project management for at least five apps and other mobile health solutions in development.
  • Grant writing to acquire funds to evaluate mobile health domestically and internationally.
  • Creating bids and managing contract for new projects in mobile health.

Qualifications

Required qualifications at the PRA level:

Bachelor degree in a health sciences or public health field

Familiarity with statistical analyses using SAS, SPSS, R, or STATA

Required qualifications at the Sr. PRA level:



Master's degree in a health sciences or public health field

Familiarity with statistical analyses using SAS, SPSS, R, or STATA

Preferred qualifications for both PRA and Sr. PRA levels:

Specific exposure to and training in mobile and digital health applications

Prior experience in project management

Training in public health

Experience with computer programming related to app design
