Coordinator II, UTC Children's Center  Requisition # 170000018P 

 

This position is responsible for the daily operation of the UTC Children’s Center site for approximately 150 families, ages 6 weeks – 5 years by implementing programs in accordance with requirements of the Tennessee Department of Human Services, TN Department of Education, National Association of the Education of Young Children and UTC Children’s Center philosophy and goals while ensuring welfare, health and safety of children at all times. Responsibilities include: Scheduling staff and student workers, ensuring that requirements for licensing, accreditation, and approvals are met; supervising teaching staff and ensuring that programs are consistent with best practices in the field; keeping the Lead Coordinator informed about overall operations of the program by meeting regularly.  

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Must have classroom experience with young children and management and supervision of an early childhood program. Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written and ability to handle multiple tasks. Must be able to distinguish individual facial features at arm’s length and across the room. Ability to lift a 40 pound child four feet off the floor to changing table. Must be able to evacuate all children and adults from the building in less than one minute.
