Job description

Duties: A full-time research specialist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jeremy Wilusz (Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics). The candidate will need to perform general molecular and cellular techniques in an RNA biology lab, such as cell culture, DNA and RNA preparation, PCR, plasmid cloning, Western blotting, luciferase assays, etc. The candidate is expected to work semi-independently on a research project and also participate in common laboratory duties. Excellent organizational and record keeping skills are necessary.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Experience with basic molecular/cellular biology techniques is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of self-motivation, strong organizational and record keeping skills, and enthusiasm for biomedical research. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) as well as good verbal and written communication skills are required.
