Position Summary: The Carolina Center for Public Service (CCPS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a pan-university center reporting to the Office of the Provost. The mission of CCPS is to engage and support the faculty, students and staff of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in meeting the needs of North Carolina and beyond. The Center strengthens the University's public service commitment by promoting scholarship and service that are responsive to the concerns of the state and contribute to the common good. The position is classified as EHRA non-faculty and reports to the director of the Center. RESPONSIBILITIES The associate director assists the director with the establishment and fulfillment of the mission, goals and day-to-day operation of the Center and is responsible for all facets of the Center in the absence of the director. The associate director works closely with the director and staff colleagues to carry out the principal functions of the Center and these essential responsibilities: 1) administration, 2) evaluation and assessment, and 3) campus, community and national engagement.

Education Requirements: Master's degree required in related field, doctorate preferred.
Qualification and Experience: Minimum of seven years of progressive experience with growing responsibilities related to program planning, management and evaluation, supervision, engaged research and teaching; Outstanding administrative skills, including organizational planning and development; Knowledge of current practices and trends in engaged scholarship and faculty development in higher education; Documented skills in program planning and assessment, applied research and evaluation, including both quantitative and qualitative methods; Ability to independently plan, manage and meet deadlines for multiple projects with minimal supervision and a positive attitude; Ability to work well with Center constituencies including faculty, staff, administrators, students and community representatives; Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as attention to detail and demonstrated experience working as an effective team member; Flexible, adaptable and skilled at balancing multiple tasks and working well under pressure; Established commitment to public service and engagement.
